The Lovat is a landmark Victorian hotel in Loch Ness, in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. We are situated in the centre of Fort Augustus, at the southern tip of Loch Ness.

By car or bike

From Inverness, follow the A82 signposted Fort William.

From Fort William, follow the A82 signposted Inverness

There is a car park provided for all guests arriving by car or motorbike. Guests arriving by push bike may store their cycle securely on our bike rack – please provide your own padlock.

By bus or coach

Local providers, like Citylink, run coach services to Fort Augustus from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Fort William.

By train

There is no railway station at Fort Augustus, however trains run from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Spean Bridge, Fort William and Inverness.   From there you’ll be able to travel to The Lovat by car, bus, taxi, helicopter, boat, bicycle or coach.

There is also a Caledonian Sleeper Service available from London to Fort William and Inverness.

By air

The closest airport to The Lovat is Inverness Airport.   Flights arrive regularly from major UK cities, including London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
