The Lovat is a proud Victorian building stooped in history, however over the years was left to deteriorate until acquisition by the Gregorys in 2005.  It was evident that the hotel needed a complete make-over to bring it into contemporary times.  That’s why we carried out a detailed refurbishment of the hotel, balanced by a strong green ethos.

Lovingly refurbishing The Lovat

Our renovation and refurbishment began in March 2006.  Initially, we added a six bedroom extension in the main car park.  This is not connected to the hotel but the interior is to the highest quality – under floor heating, flat screen television, freeview,  wet room and private parking.

The hotel underwent major refurbishment between 2006 and 2007.  This included: complete bedroom and bathroom renovation; installation of assisted facilities; new furnishings; a new fire escape; a new kitchen; installation of a lift; new bar; renovation  of all public rooms; new boiler; installation of central heating; new hot water system; and complete electrical re-wiring.

As a result of the refurbishment, The Lovat now offers 28 exceptional bedrooms.  Each bedroom is en-suite and designed with a contemporary interior.

All rooms are fitted with a new computerised central heating system, with energy provided by the biomass wood chip burner.  A lift accesses all floors and 2 ground floor bedrooms are available for those requiring assisted facilities.
