Benefits of our wood chip boiler
As part of the hotel’s 2006-2007 refurbishment, we installed a fully automated Froling Turbomatic 85kW wood chip boiler, the first of its kind to be implemented in an hotel in the Scottish Highlands. This wood chip boiler provided central heating and hot water to our hotel.
In 2013, we installed an ETA 195Kw biomass woodchip boiler, offering increased efficiency. This new installation is awaiting for confirmation on RHI.

Our advanced wood chip boiler offers individual timing and temperature control on each bedroom, bathroom and public rooms via a specially-designed computer programme. This way, our guests can create their own ideal room environment, while remaining assured that they are using an eco-friendly heating option.
Between February 2007 – 2010 we have used around 756,000 kWh. This represents a saving of around 190 tonnes of Co2 when compared with the likely emissions of our previous oil boiler.
