WALKING HOLIDAYS

The Lovat hotel near Loch Ness provides the perfect base for a walking holiday. We’re located close to many of Scotland’s famous walking routes, all of which give you wonderful views of the rugged Highland landscape that surround us.

Whether you’re walking around Loch Ness or venturing over to the Great Glen Way, we’ll be able to give you tips and advice on your walking holiday.  Book your stay online now or call us on 01456 490000 for further details on how to plan your walking break in the Highlands.

Where to go walking when you stay at The Lovat

Walking around Loch Ness and the surrounding area is easy to do if you’re a guest at The Lovat. If you’re new to the region, check out Walk Highlands for more advice. There are varied routes that can provide challenges and leisurely walks.  You can walk by lochs, waterfalls and islands, take a picnic or go monster spotting! Wheelchair accessible routes are also available.

The Great Glen Way is another popular walking spot, as are the West Highlands and the Isle of Skye. Here, soaring mountains, rapid rivers, glassy lochs and dramatic islands provide stunning backdrops for these walks. Alternatively, walk Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, which towers above the nearby town of Fort William.

Alternatively, for a guided walking tour, consult Wilderness Scotland.
