MANHATTAN – 9

Almost as famous as the New York skyline, created in the famous Manhattan club at a dinner hosted by Lady Churchill for the American presidential candidate Samuel J. Tilden.

Maker Mark bourbon shaken with sweet vermouth and angostura bitters. Served in a martini with a flamed orange twist.

GIN MARTINI – 9

Beefeater gin (or a gin of your choice) stirred gently over ice with Noilly pratt vermouth. Garnished with a lemon twist or olives. If you’d like it made with vodka and shaken please don’t hesitate to ask.

ESPRESSO MARTINI – 9

Dick Bradells world renowned cocktail created for an ever so slightly-still wearing the dress for the night before-American model who needed something that would “pick her up and *swear word* her up”.

Absolut Vodka, Kahlua coffee liquer, sugar syrup and a fresh shot of espresso.

DAIQUIRI – 9

British Adrmiral, Vernon, can be accredited with creating the first template of the daiquiri with his scurvy banishing “grog” which was rum, lime and water. The favourite drink of Ernest Hemingway and JFK.

Havana 3, Sugar, Lime juice. Shaken served straight up with a lime wedge.

COSMOPOLITAN – 9

Created by floridian bar legend Cheryl Cook during the 1980’s cocktail revolution – the perfect drink to be enjoyed by all.

Absolut Citron, Lime juice, Triple sec, Cranberry juice. Shaken and served straight up with a flamed orange zest.

LOST IN TRANSLATION – 9

Created by our very own Wee Sean as his entry to the Giffard West Cup which he made the Scottish finals for.

TOM COLLINS – 9

A drinks that lent its name to the glassware its served in, popular theories to its origin point to the Tom Collins Hoax of 1874 – if you wish to know more about this story please ask, it’s hilarious.

Tanquerary gin shaken with lemon juice and sugar syrup, served in an ice filled glass topped up with soda and lemon slice to garnish.

BLOODY JOSEPH – 9

The quintessential hair of the dog drink the Bloody Mary is given a Scottish twist with some Abrbikie Chilli Vodka,  all other traditional ingredients appear also.

ZOMBIE – 9

It’s an extraordinary concept; you get drunk from the bottom-up” –Billy Connolly

Havana 3, El dorado, Pussers Gunpowder rum, Wray and Nephew, pineapple juice, lime juice, orange juice are all shaken together and served long.

MOJITO – 8.5

A deliciously refreshing mix of rum, lime, sugar and mint first made in honour of the notorious British sea captain and Privateer Sir Francis Drake.

DULL AND DREICH – 8.5

A Scottish twist on the classic tonic, “Dark and Stormy”.

Dark Matter rum, Lime juice, Sugar, Ginger beer

BRAMBLE – 8.5

Another of Dick Bradsell’s creations is the bramble, designed as a spring cocktail it brings together London dry gin, lemon juice, crème de muree and sugar syrup. Served short over crushed ice, muree is drizzled over the top, lemon slice garnish.

OLD FASHIONED – 8.5

What can be described as “the original cocktail” the Old Fashioned was originally known as “The Whisky cocktail” in Professor Jerry Thomas’ book the Bon Vivant’s companion or how to mix drinks (the very first cocktail book in existence – we have a copy of this behind the bar so if you’d like to have a nosy please ask).

Woodford Reserve,, sugar and bitters stirred with ice and orange twist to garnish.

MAI TAI – 8.5

Originally created by a bartender named “Trader Vic” who made it during WWII in San Francisco for some Polynesian guests. He served the drink and upon tasting the Polynesians exclaimed “Maita’i roa ae!” which simply means “the best!” in English, hence the name.

Havana 3 Triple Sec, lime, almond syrup, orange curacao, grapefruit bitters served short over ice, decorated to the hilt.

NEGRONI – 8.5

The perfect pre-dinner drink that dates back early 20th century Italy – Count Negroni asked Italian bartender Fosco Scarselli to fortify his Americano (vermouth and Campari) with a good knock of gin and so the Negroni was born.
