Meet our jam supplier – Perthshire Preserves
We recently started introducing you to our suppliers so this week we’re getting you acquainted with Perthshire Preserves.
Perthshire Preserves has just celebrated their 8th Birthday. Set up by Iain Mackenzie, an ex Cunard Hotel Officer in the Merchant Navy, and Kate Thornhill, ex hotelier, who were originally looking for a small catering business stumbled across preserve making. Since then they have built the business up moving from their home to a dedicated commercial kitchen a few miles away. They send their preserves all over the world and have stockists in Germany and Canada and also supply guest houses, boutique B&Bs and hotels in Scotland. Their jams and marmalades can also be found on the MV Lord of the Glens travelling along the Caledonian Canal from Inverness to the Scottish Islands & back.
They have won numerous awards from Great Taste, world Jampionships and the prestigious World Marmalade Awards. Winning Gold medals for Seedless Blackcurrant and two for the orange marmalade with Deanston 12yr old malt whisky. Their aim now is to get better know in Northern Ireland and in Southern England.
They can be found at Farmers Markets mainly in the Central Belt at Stockbridge Market every Sunday and at Food Exhibitions in Scotland and sometimes over the border. There is also an option to use their online- shop which customers use frequently. Have a look yourself at www.perthshirepreserves.co.uk
